Robert Kulhawy

Board Member

Mr. Kulhawy spent the last 20 years working in the digital and telecom space is a former international board member of the Young Presidents’ Organization (YPO).  He is a former International President and the structural architect of the Young Entrepreneurs’ Organization (now EO); founder YEO Calgary Chapter, Former Chair of Alberta YPO Gold Chapter; and currently a member of YPO International.  Robert is also Commerx President & Chief Executive Officer.

Christian Mack

As a high-tech industry veteran, investment banker, serial entrepreneur, deal maker, and charismatic leader, Christian Mack has successfully transformed high-tech, under-valued services organizations into high-value software + services organizations. Under his leadership, Lotus Innovations – a private equity firm specializing in high-tech – has delivered double-digit returns on its inaugural $10M Fund I. With backing from high net-worth individuals and family office investors, Christian is currently launching Lotus’ Fund II™, a $30M 5-year commitment fund targeting small and mid-size high technology acquisitions.

Prior to launching Lotus Innovations, Christian Mack founded networking service assurance focused gen-E® in 1999 piloting it from a professional services organization into one of the largest IBM Tivoli resellers and integrators. He subsequently led the transformation of gen-E into a software company in 2005 and exited the firm in 2012 after an acquisition by Solis Capital.

Christian has a wealth of knowledge and experience having held a variety of senior-level roles including CEO, Board Chairman, Consultant, Founder, Partner and Managing Director.

David Roman

Board Member

After years of direct experience exiting software companies, David became a Managing Partner at Lotus Innovations, a private equity fund that focuses on tech firms in the small and mid-market sector. At Lotus, we focus on companies needing capital, functional infrastructure, and industry expertise to overcome their challenges in the market. We created a model called the Lotus Methodology that not only provides growth capital, but it supports a company’s growth trajectory through the use of our Shared Services team and senior leadership team expertise. Now there is a private equity model that serves companies stuck between start-up and growth.

David has over 20+ years of strategic software and services sales/consulting experience across enterprise IT and telecom industries, as well as, investment banking expertise with Lotus Innovations. David’s talent for team-building, his pace-setting management style, and entrepreneurial zeal contributes to his fundraising and strategic sales success at Lotus Innovations. David also oversees investor relations for the Fund, has successfully lead and managed portfolio company exits and manages Lotus’ deal flow.

Prior to joining Lotus Innovations David – through his strategic sales and management consulting firm Ex Novo – transformed early stage companies into mature sales organizations and built a track record of achievements by forming partnerships with enterprise-level clients (domestically and internationally), such as Expedia, Zappos, AT&T, T-Mobile, JPMorgan, and other Fortune 500 companies. Whether it was improving sales process, streamlining organizations, or introducing new technologies, Mr. Roman was integral to increased profitability and efficiency for his clients.

David earned his undergraduate and graduate degrees from Ithaca College, where he earned his B.A. and MS degrees.
